Life presents us with infinite opportunities to grow -- or resist it. I’m here to collaborate with you to peek around corners and into dark spots to determine what growth might look like for you. We tend to pick up habits, activities, emotions, thoughts, relationships, jobs, and careers that work for us for a while; and one day we notice that something just is not working.
Therapy with me is built on a relationship where I learn what it’s like to experience the world like you do, see experiences through your eyes. Over time, clients experience the space as an open field where they can choose to explore thoughts and feelings for greater understanding.
Ultimately, only you make the decision on what to do with what you learn in therapy. I am here because I believe in your capacity to create a life that is best for you.
There is no one way to live a life. I deeply enjoy learning all the ways that clients are experiencing their lives and relationships, and I find the therapy space an organic laboratory for learning and growth. In therapy, we can practice, tolerate – maybe even welcome – challenges, as well as build and repair connections.
About Me
I have lived in Austin 40 years, becoming a therapist after working in the semiconductor industry and for several start-ups. What I enjoyed most was being present for individuals growing into their potential; I incorporate that experience into my work as a therapist. And talking about work in therapy matters because we spend half of our waking life there.
Outside of this work, I am a CrossFit Level 1 coach, and an armchair neuroscientist because understanding our neurobiology can be hugely helpful in building understanding and self-acceptance.
Also, I am the proud dog owner of Domino who loves to hike the great trails around town. I am a fan of the cookbook author Dorie Greenspan. I have a spreadsheet comparing all of her brownie recipes and have baked my way through all of them.
I received my BBA from Texas A&M University. Both of my graduate degrees are from St. Edward’s University; I received an MBA in 1991 and my MA in Counseling in 2017.
I am a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor in good standing.
